Level 3 Learning Mentor
Earners of this badge have demonstrated competence as a Learning Mentor based on the occupational standard published by IFATE. This includes applied knowledge of supporting the development of learners’ knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout an agreed development programme and applying theoretical learning. Skills and behaviours demonstrated include advising, active listening, effective communication, relationship building goal setting, compliance of quality and data requirements.

Earning Criteria

Successfully met the requirements of the Learning Mentor End-point Assessment delivered by Pearson as a registered EPAO. The End-point Assessment consists of Learning mentor observations and Professional discussion.

Completed a minimum of 12 months learning and development to meet the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the Learning Mentor occupational standard.

Achieved Safeguarding qualification certificate at Level 1 or above and English and Maths certificates (Level 2 or above).
Standards
A Learning Mentor is the foundation of vocational training and apprenticeships. Mentoring takes place in all parts of the Education and Training Sector (ETS) and staff-development contexts. LMs support learners of all ages and levels, to develop within a new work role. They support the development of learners’ knowledge, skills and behaviours.
