Earning Criteria

Earners of the digital badge complete an asynchronous online course that covers basic communication principles, listing and differentiating the four key communication needs, exploring the basic principles of interpersonal communication principles, and defining communication competence.

Earners must complete written quizzes, where a minimum score of 80% is required to earn the digital badge.

Upon acceptance and enrollment at SIUE, this credential may provide a pathway to 3 credit hours for ACS 103 Interpersonal Communication for earners who can: (1) demonstrate the equivalent of three years of full-time work or volunteer experience where interpersonal communication was a key component of the role at the time of credential completion, and (2) demonstrate ability to apply Interpersonal Communications concepts to lived experiences.
