If Im being honest here I think I might like male authors better than female but since I don't know other than male scifi authors my bias can't be proven.. xD Use a name that doesn't reveal your sex (if you want to sell) because you might be right about that gender bias. Do you want to just write a story or affect how people think? A scifi author or rights activist (yeah, I think it is possible to be both)? I believe it is part of "men hunt and build, women cook and care" thinking and there is not much cooking in the space so it is full of those world views. Change it?
