Anacaona Sanchez

Legend has it that in 1765, John Montague, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, was such a huge gambler that he did not want to leave the gaming table to eat. Instead, Montague told his servants to simply bring him some meat between sliced bread so that he could eat and play at the same time. Thus was born a "sandwich" ... of sorts. The Count wasn't really a big player, but he enjoyed his food. The legend came from a French traveler in London and is the only source for the history of gambling. However, the story caught on, and soon people all over Europe were making sandwiches as they are.
