Earners have experience in community-engaged research including relationship building, incorporating feedback, and actively contributing as a member of the interdisciplinary SSW Evaluation Lab team. They can assist with evaluating scientific research, and/or analyzing data, and summarize the findings. Earners can explain how social work research, policy, and practice work together in the context of a specific community need.

Earning Criteria

Join the VCU SSW Evaluation Lab team for at least 2 semesters. Complete at least 3 tasks for development of materials for community partners, including but not limited to, literature reviews, summarizing data, and co-writing executive summary reports.

Complete 3 written reflections: how research, policy & practice work together to improve community health; how community-engaged research is crucial to advancing meaningful practice; and critical evaluation of the earner's contributions, strengths, & areas for growth.
