Senior Academic Success Coach

The Senior Academic Success Coach (SASC) badge was created to recognize the highest level of competency and professionalization for Academic Success Coaches. SASC’s serve to mentor other success coaches, lead student staff trainings, and serve on office committees. SASC’s also serve as the primary providers of student workshops and presentations on academic success topics. Additionally, SASC’s may be tasked with additional responsibilities within the scope of Success Advising Center operations.

Earning Criteria

Student’s are eligible to apply after earning the Master Academic Success Coach (MASC) rating, and serving in this capacity for a minimum of one semester. The MASC required them to become certified peer educators (NASPA-CPE), and serve as an Academic Success Coach for a minimum of two semesters, or four semesters of experience in a related student support position.

Recommendation for promotion to SASC is forwarded by the Academic Success Coach Committee to the Success Advising Leadership Team (SALT) for review. After discussion, the SALT will vote on the promotion recommendation; promotion will be confirmed by majority vote.
