The credential is earned by completing executive and wellness coaching sessions, and a series of workshops that increase engagement around DEI topics, while providing participants insight into key concepts considered required learning for today’s leaders. The Gold level signifies completion of 24 contact hours, the highest level of achievement offered by the program. The Adversity Group (TAG) is a business consultancy which leverages innovation to mitigate the effects of systemic bias.

A1 - The Neethling Brain Instruments® (NBI®) is a neuroscience-based assessment which offers opportunities to examines thinking preferences to better understand oneself and improve interpersonal skills. In addition, participants are required to attend two workshops which have an immediate and visceral impact on self-awareness. Note: This assessment must be completed prior to scheduling executive coaching sessions.

A2 - The Chopra® Ayurvedic Wellness Assessment explores Ayurveda, an ancient system of natural and holistic health care, used to help restore balance within the body and mind. Participants discover their unique mind-body type, known as a dosha. One required workshop provides an overview of specific characteristics of their dosha type and a custom blueprint of practices to optimize their mind/body well-being. Note: This assessment must be completed prior to scheduling wellness coaching sessions.

B1 – Session #1: Kick-off & Introductions. The cohort participates in an innovative ice breaker with fellow participants and the program facilitators, which promotes connectivity and lays the foundation for psychological safety.

B2 - Session #2: NBI® Assessment Review. The cohort is taken through an overview of the NBI® framework as a group, while examining the most impactful pages of their personal results individually. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B3 – Session #3: NBI® Exercises. The cohort participates in a series of curated exercises designed to challenge their thinking preferences, analyze workplace scenarios and management decisions, and help them leverage neuroscience to mitigate bias in the workplace. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B4 – Session #4: Introduction to Ayurveda. The cohort gains foundational knowledge of Ayurveda and deeper understanding of the optimal states of each dosha type: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort. Individual results of Prakruti quiz are shared in the first one-on-one, wellness coaching session.

B5 – Session #5: DEI Deconstructed: Going Beyond the Acronym. The cohort learns the difference between Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, how they can work together to create a greater sense of belonging and what they can do to bring about sustainable change. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B6 – Session #6: The Impact of Unconscious Bias at Work. Through a series of exercises, the cohort gains greater awareness of how to better mitigate the bias we all possess as human beings – inside and outside of the workplace. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B7 – Session #7: Activist, Advocate or Ally: Where do you stand? The cohort explores different levels of activism and identifies their preferred degree of engagement, which can vary depending on your level of involvement with the cause or group. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B8 – Session #8: Microaggressions: Death By Paper Cuts. The cohort is introduced to three forms of microaggressions, then experiences them firsthand via role-playing exercises and action-oriented analysis. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B9 – Session #9: Question-Storm: Analyzing Workplace Bias with Real-world Examples. Working through a series of scenarios curated from their own experiences, the cohort uses curiosity as a problem-solving tool, by illuminating blind spots and identifying future opportunities to mitigate bias. B10 – Session #10: Cohort’s Choice. The cohort chooses the topic from a pre-selected list of options via anonymous vote. During the chosen session, insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

B12 – Session #12: Connection & Reflection. The cohort closes the program by making professional connections with each other and then, shares their experiences as part of the cohort. Insights can be shared anonymously or openly with the cohort.

C1 – Executive Coaching. These confidential, one-on-one sessions work to ensure clients have the communication skills and tools needed to lead diverse teams with inclusion top-of-mind. As a result, the neuroscience-based approach creates opportunities for clients to recognize and mitigate their own unconscious and internalized bias. Each individual session also concludes with co-created action items for continued thinking and progress until the next session.

C2 – Wellness Coaching. Our methodology draws from best practices in psychology and neuroscience, to provide holistic support for finding work/life balance. Each client is provided grounding techniques and a wellness toolkit to help manage the psychological response to stress – in either the mind or body. This introduction provides space to help clients identify underlying reasons for discomfort (mentally or physical,) coupled with Ayurvedic recommendations to help restore balance.
