The Applications of R credential demonstrated an earner's understanding of R concepts including Flow Control, looping, the dplyr package and related Tidyverse commands, data management, data visualization, introductory statistics concepts, introductory analytical methods in R, random number generators and their applications, as well as how to perform basic model diagnostics.

Earning Criteria

Participants were assessed using a total of 11 quizzes and 3 coding projects, and 80% or higher was earned. Quizzes assessed syntax knowledge, whereas coding projects assessed participants' ability to apply coding syntax to solve a data problem. Projects involved loops and conditional statements (e.g. if, else, and ifelse), creation of data visuals using both base graphics and ggplot2 graphics, common data analyses, and associated model diagnostics.
