Holders of the STA Diploma have demonstrated the ability to apply technical analysis at an advanced level, employing in-depth knowledge to analyse and interpret market action. Completing the Diploma programme demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of technical analysis concepts, their application in making informed trading and investment decisions and the construction and use of trading systems. Holders of the Diploma meet the requirements for the CISI full (MCSI) grade of membership.

Earning Criteria

The STA Diploma Part 1 examination is an internationally recognised part-qualification, accredited by the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA). It tests a basic understanding of technical analysis. The STA Diploma Part 1 examination is a two hour, 120 question, multiple choice exam. Holders of this exam meet the requirements for the CISI Associate (ACSI) grade of membership and limited exemption from some CISI examinations.
The STA Diploma Part 2 examination is an internationally recognised qualification, equivalent to the International Federation of Technical Analysts’ (IFTA) CFTe II accreditation. The Part 2 examination is a three hour written exam requiring report writing and chart analysis skills.
