By completing either course, students will be prepared to interact confidently with Spanish speakers in diverse school settings. Students will gain practical skills in supporting second language learners, including the ability to develop, modify, and implement strategies designed to aid English language learners in acquiring academic language and content-area knowledge.

Earning Criteria

Successfully complete EDUC 3274 Spanish for ESL Pedagogy OR EDUC 5244 Spanish for ESL Pedagogy
Candidates will enable English Language Learners (ELLs) to communicate for social, intercultural, and instructional purposes within the school setting.
Candidates will enable ELLs to communicate information, ideas, and concepts necessary for academic success in the content areas (language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies).
