The Science of Reading (SoR) micro-credential builds upon the knowledge and ability to plan research-based systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing while introducing additional elements such as pedagogical approaches, reading motivation, executive functioning, and flexible strategy use. This micro-credential meets requirements of Senate Bill 362 (Strong Readers Act).

Successfully complete EDEL 3123 Literature in Primary Grades (3 hours)
Successfully complete EDEL 3223 Literature in Intermediate (3 hours)
