Elementary Spanish
With this badge, participants demonstrate the ability to communicate in Spanish at an elementary to early intermediate level. They can understand and participate in everyday conversations, read and write short texts, and apply cultural awareness to interactions. Upon completion, participants have a foundation to engage in bilingual settings, continue advanced study, or contribute Spanish skills in academic, workplace, or community contexts.

Earning Criteria

Complete three sequential Spanish courses (SPAN 1103, 1213, 2113) to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.

Demonstrate Spanish proficiency through class assignments, exams, and conversational participation.

Complete SPAN 1103 - Elementary Spanish I with a C or better, or an S (satisfactory; PLA).

Complete SPAN 1213 - Elementary Spanish II with a C or better, or an S (satisfactory; PLA).

Complete SPAN 2113 - Intermediate Spanish I with a C or better, or an S (satisfactory; PLA).
