Earning Criteria

• Complete a 4-week didactic course online, followed by a weekly quiz.
• Apply skills learned from didactic course in a clinical setting with mannequins.
• Pass a proctored exam on Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride at Rose State College Allied Dental.
• Learners gain competencies in patient preparation, equipment operation, polishing techniques, stain and plaque removal, and the proper selection and application of topical fluoride agents.
• Emphasis is placed on patient safety, infection control practices, and adherence to professional standards and regulatory guidelines governing preventive dental procedures.
• Skills attainment in: Coronal Polishing, Topical Fluoride Application, Preventive Dental Care, Plaque and Stain Removal, Dental Prophylaxis Support, Dental Instrument Operation, Patient Preparation, Oral Health Prevention, Clinical Dental Assisting, and Patient Safety
• Foundational knowledge and clinical skills necessary to assist with preventive dental procedures that support oral health and disease prevention. This credential focuses on the safe and effective performance of coronal polishing and the application of topical fluoride treatments within the dental clinical environment.
