Students will analyze the forms and practices of government relations among individuals, civil society, political institutions, and governments, comprehending motivations, and consequences of political decisions and activities and identify ethical issues. Students will define and analyze problems, considering a range of alternative points of view and evidence, and identify factors that contribute to outcomes and that make connections.

Earning Criteria

Earners must complete 3 (9 credit hours total from either list) of the following courses with a grade of "B" or better: POLS 3623 Public Policy, POLS 3713 State & Local Government, POLS 4000 Special Topics, POLS 4213 Political Parties, POLS 4233 Interest Groups in U.S. Politics, POLS 4133 Southern Politics, POLS 4253 Public Opinion and Political Behavior.

Earners must complete 3 (9 credit hours total from either list) of the following courses with a grade of "B" or better: POLS 4263 Politics and the American Indian, POLS 4273 Race and Politics, POLS 4283 Campaigns and Elections, POLS 4293 Political Communication and the Media, POLS 4513 Legislative Process, POLS 4523 American Presidency.
