The ability to write and repurpose content for the web is an important skill. Visitors can abandon your site at the click of a button if they are not engaged by what you have written. From September 2018, legislation now means digital inclusion is a right for users rather than a privilege. People writing content for organisational websites need to understand the impact of clear communication on accessibility.

Earning Criteria

This Writing for the digital world course consists of a 2x 2 hour participative live online sessions with tasks to be completed between each session. They will then have been awarded the Jisc training course completed digital badge and further to this fulfilled the following criteria for this Jisc training course demonstrated digital badge;

This participant has created and submitted the following self-directed study activity in-between the 2 sessions to an acceptable standard: ‘Reducing the text’ - Choosen a topic and written a first draft (between 500 and 1,000 words). Then re-written and reduced the word count by fifty percent using the techniques learned from session 1.
