Complete formal training in your area of specialty either through attendance at a taught course, or through self-study

Lead a cross-functional team to develop the vision and big picture of the solution, leveraging the necessary resources and clearly communicating strategy and direction

Is a recognized technical leader, sought after as a speaker at conferences (internal & external), teach and submit patents

Enhance and maintain IBM's technical vitality through mentoring others and other forms of give back including the development of intellectual capital and property, reusable assets, publications, technical presentations and voluntary work on Profession's Review Boards
