Complete four graduate-level courses with a B or better: PSED 535 - Classroom Diversity; PSED 509 - History Of Education; PSED 530 - Workshop in Emotional Intelligence: Implications for the Classroom Teacher; and PSED 531 - Advanced Workshop in Affective Education. The courses deepen PA's Culturally Relevant and Sustaining Education Competencies, with PSED 535 as an in-depth survey of all the competencies based on different contexts and roles.
Standards
Pennsylvania's Culturally Relevant and Sustaining Education (CRSE) Competencies are vital in implementing Chapter 49 for teacher educators. Nine competencies are included, each with accompanying standards that illustrate how these competencies can be applied in various educational contexts.
