The Watson Career Development Essentials skills badge provides Watson College students with the ability to develop fundamental skills that will enhance their career development and increase their employability. Upon completion of the course, participants will possess four (4) learning artifacts, including an "industry ready" professional resume, cover letter, optimized LinkedIn profile, and a critiqued mock interview.

This credential is designed for current Watson College students at any level (undergraduate and graduate) and any class year.

This credential provides resources and individual guidance with a subject matter expert in an asynchronous manner, with the option for virtual or in-person advice based on the learner's preference. The total time expected will vary based on the individual learner's background and experience, however, the full duration of the course is estimated to be 10 hours.

To earn this credential, four learning objectives must be completed and approved as "industry ready": 1) major specific professional resume; 2) cover letter tailored to a position of interest in alignment with the individual’s career goals; 3) optimized LinkedIn profile complete with a professional headshot, headline, summary, experience and education sections, skills, projects, and 4) plan for developing connections; and mock interview practice and personalized feedback for improvement.
