Earning Criteria

Attendance: IBM Accelerate participants may miss no more than a total of one track session and one foundational skills session over the course of the program with the exception of one optional Wednesday night session in observance of Independence Day in July.
Participation: Demonstrate engagement with the course material and ongoing skill progression through active participation in weekly sessions. Participation can be reflected in weekly quizzes or polls, commenting or asking questions during discussions, collaborating with peers in small group sessions, or taking advantage of optional networking opportunities sessions.
Assessment: Badge earners must participate in, and complete the requirements of the final assessment demonstrating an understanding of curriculum concepts and designing with intent. A score of 80% of higher is required.
Course Content: In addition to strengthening participants' existing foundational and academic knowledge, the IBM Accelerate - Design track will cover the following areas: Redefining design; Design intent and outcomes; UX design; Visual dsign; Design research; and New technologies (AI).
Foundational Skills, Competencies & Tools: UI/UX design; Design research; Conceptual thinking; Critical thinking and problem solving; Communication and collaboration; Creativity and innovation; and Design thinking.
