Earners of this badge have acquired an appreciation of the principles of radio engineering that underpin the fixed and mobile radio systems in use today. They will understand the relationship between baseband information, modulation schemes (analogue and digital), radio channel bandwidth and multiplexing techniques. They will also be able to interpret the performance parameters of RF transmission lines and antennas and describe the propagation characteristics of radio spectrum frequency bands.
