Badge earners will understand how electromagnetic fields are generated, appreciate Maxwell’s equations, the EM Spectrum, and the concepts of Polarization, permittivity and permeability. They will have learnt the Inverse Square Law and the Impedance of Free Space, and so be able to calculate Power Flux Density and Field Strength. They will also understand the use of dBs (Decibels) to express gains and losses as well as power levels (dBm and dBW) and signal strengths (dBV/m).
