Advanced Coding for Designers
Earners of this badge understand the process of developing CMS templates and HTML/CSS functional prototypes to better communicate with a team of Front-End Developers. They are able to perform usability testing past the Design stage. The concentration is on HTML/CSS, Interaction Design with jQuery, CMS and templating through WordPress and PHP, and UX Design theories applied to an interactive and responsive interface.

This course enhances cross-functional collaboration with Development teams by letting students experiment with practical Front-End Development challenges such as Responsive Design, Interaction Design, and CMS templating. Students gain greater empathy and communication skills for both the Development team and the users.

Students answer a multiple choices quiz comprised of overall knowledge questions related to the relationship between UX and coding theories, technical coding questions and exercises.

Students create a WordPress template with an interactive and responsive interface. In doing so, they apply technical skills such as HTML/CSS, jQuery, PHP, while incorporating Interaction Design and UX Design theories.
