Earners have the foundational skills to support DeafBlind students with significant support and communication access needs. They can assess and track communication development and connect results to IEP goals. Earners can create a Communication Profile to collect and share information. They can apply tools and strategies to support communication development to bridge students from unconventional to symbolic communication. Earners can collaborate across a student's team, including the family.

Earning Criteria

Attend four (4) Required Virtual PLC Sessions.

Develop Student Communication Profile including Communication Assessment, Learner Profile, Communication Plan, Experience Book, and Passport.

Complete Supporting Communication Development Essential Components Self-Assessment, both pre- and post-assessments.
