Inclusive Fitness and Health

Earners have practical expertise in inclusive fitness and health programming. They are capable of assessing the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and applying evidence-based principles to design, implement, and adapt exercise programs for this population. This includes collecting and interpreting data to adjust programs independently and/or collaboratively, as well as producing professional, accessible documentation that meets workforce standards.

Earning Criteria

Complete 120 contact hours in the Inclusive Fitness and Health program. Inclusive Fitness and Health (IFH) is a collaborative program between the Department of Kinesiology & Health Sciences and a local non-profit, Jacob's Chance, whose mission is to provide services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs). Current students acquire hours for this program by either completing a clinical experience or volunteering.
