Earners of this badge are educators who completed this two year program and are able to integrate engineering and STEM activities into their classrooms while maintaining focused content in accordance with the Virginia Standards of Learning. They have practiced creating and implementing curriculum that supports engineering design, and gained an understanding of how to create a STEM culture that is school-wide.

Earning Criteria

Participate in at least four of the six monthly engineering-focused workshops offered during the first year of the program, and complete any assigned self-led work in preparation for these sessions.

Complete a team project to create two lessons that integrate engineering into group-defined content areas and skill progressions by the end of the first year of the program, and implement these lessons into the classroom during year two.

Host the VCU Engineering outreach office for at least one virtual or in-person engagement with students at the participant's school.
