This course will give you all the information you need to know about working in a warehouse environment, including Health and Safety, Manual Handling, picking methods and preparation of goods for packing.

Understand Health & Safety rights and responsibilities including RIDDOR & CoSHH, fire regulations and substance control in a warehouse setting and understand how to prevent and deal with accidents.

Understand the importance of effective working relationships including the importance of good communication methods and key policies, including equality and diversity and equal opportunities, for developing effective working relationships

Understand the four key areas of manual handling and identify how to move goods safely

Understand picking methods and systems when picking goods. Be able to list the potential problems that can occur when picking goods and how to deal with these.

Understand how to prepare goods for packing, including the use of different wrapping & packing materials & equipment

Understand what to look for when conducting Quality Control checks prior to packing goods to ensure goods arrive at the customer in optimum condition and state the action you would take should you encounter any problems

Understand how to correctly, and safely, stack goods, considering their height, weight and centre of gravity, prior to moving them to the dispatch area. Understand what checks are required before moving the goods to the dispatch area.
