The Gold Badge is displayed in online course sections that have met High Quality based on the University of South Florida Innovative Education Digital Learning High-Quality Review process. A Gold High-Quality designation means an online course has met rigorous, research-based standards of course design and promotes increased engagement and interaction, community building, social presence, and real-world applications.

Earning Criteria

Earners of this Badge must complete a rigorous course review of 50 standards intended to assess the quality and design elements of an effective online course, including 6 additional standards required for the USF Gold Badge. The quality review core for Gold must be 89 points or higher out of 104 points on the USF Quality Online Rubric and at least 8 points out of 12 points on the USF Gold Standards.
