Earners of this credential can recognize, recall, and formulate medical terms from basic medical terms, word roots, prefixes, and suffixes. They can interpret basic medical abbreviations and symbols. They can also utilize diagnostic, surgical, and procedural terms and abbreviations related to the following systems: integumentary, musculoskeletal, reproductive, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, endocrine, digestive, urinary, and other specific medical conditions.

Earning Criteria

Complete 14 lesson exams and one comprehensive final exam. To receive this credential, students must score 75% or higher on all exams.

Complete readings, videos, and other activities for module one. Topics include an introduction to medical terminology, sensory systems, the integumentary system, the skeletal system, and the muscular system.

Complete readings, videos, and other activities for module two. Topics include the nervous system, cardiovascular system, blood vessels and blood, and lymphatic and immune systems.
