Earners of this badge have completed a 10-week course covering the basics of the craft beer brewing process. They recognize the equipment and know the ingredients needed to produce beer. Other areas of proficiency include knowledge of beer styles from around the world along with how equipment and ingredients can be used to develop beer recipes across classic and modern styles.

Students complete 4 modules of coursework in three areas of study, including Introduction to Brewing Terminology, Beer Styles, Essential Ingredients (Malt, Hops, Water & Yeast) and Recipe Development.
