Participants are guided down the pathway to earn their Certified Nonprofit Professional credential (CNP) by enrolling in an optional course in the Wilson College as part of the Professional Readiness Program. Students will demonstrate an increased knowledge of the foundation and history of the nonprofit profession including of the range of types of organizations, current critical trends, and issues in professional practice.

Earning Criteria

Students enroll in an optional level of BUSINESS 3000 as part of the Wilson College Professional readiness Program. Through this course, students work towards earning the CNP credential, which is the only nationally recognized credential in nonprofit management that provides learning and real world experience.

Students are required to complete their credentialing profile and keep this up to date with real time information, including entering volunteer service, internship experience, conference experience, etc.

Students are required to complete the credentialing exam with a passing score of 76% or higher.

Participants are required to complete their Nonprofit Leadership Alliance credentialing profile on the national website. This profile offers a place for learners to record their progress towards earing their national credential. Updates to the profile will allow for the individual overseeing the badge to track overall progress.

Once those who complete the badge complete their undergraduate degree they will receive their Certified Nonprofit Professional national credential. Those who earn the badge, upon completion of their undergraduate degree and having their CNP may later earn their Advance Certified Nonprofit Professional Credential.
