Alternative Assessments: Thinking Beyond the Test Seminar

Earners of this badge have attended and participated in a 60 minute workshop about alternative approaches to assessment that can be implemented in both face-to-face and online courses. The methods shared have the potential to better and more efficiently assess the range of student learning outcomes. Research was discussed showing that high-stakes testing is not necessarily the best way to assess student learning. Examples were provided for a variety of both graded and ungraded assessments.
