Introduction to the techniques of sub-culturing, traditional & automated cell counting, viability assays, cell staining & imaging, basic molecular biology techniques, & automated bioprocessing, while employing aseptic technique. Application of cell culture to contemporary research in biotechnology through experimental design, standard operating procedure, data analysis and bioreactor systems.

This multi-day course introduces and assesses competency of the general techniques of sub-culturing, traditional and automated cell counting, viability assays, cell staining and imaging, basic molecular biology techniques, and automated bioprocessing, while employing aseptic technique in a biosafety cabinet.

Learners are expected to participate in at least 85% of the entire experience. Fulfillment of all competencies is required, and course instructors approve their successful completion of experienced-based learning.
