The University District Civic Leadership Program is a collaboration between the University of Minnesota Office for Public Engagement, Office of Student Affairs and the Graduate School. Held fall 2020 through spring 2021, the mission is to build an effective partnership between the University District neighborhoods and the University of Minnesota through two main goals (see "Additional Details" link for more information).

Earning Criteria

Work on projects in teams to provide 20 hours of service per semester with University District neighborhoods. Projects included developing awareness of University neighborhoods adjacent to the UMN Minneapolis campus; implementing a racial equity framework for community engagement; creating a resource guide; develop a community calendar and strategy for implementation; and supporting events and programs to build community.

Participate and interact with community leaders through monthly forums on civic engagement topics to reflect on what community experience teaches us about larger issues in society.
