The Office of Teaching and Learning’s Teaching for Inclusion & Equity (TIE) badge program offers multifaceted professional development on inclusive and equitable teaching practices, including course design, relationship building and culturally responsive communication. As participants develop increased awareness of their biases and assumptions about students, they will be able to intervene in instances of racism, sexism, homophobia and other forms of oppression.

Earning Criteria

Completion of the Faculty Institute for Inclusive Teaching, which is an asynchronous course offered in Cornerstone

Attendance of one of the following: Six Equity/UDL Your Course workshops, OR the annual Neurodiversity institute, OR participating in a faculty learning community offered by the ITP director

Completion of one community consultation with a DU staff member with DEI expertise

Three reflective assignments
Standards
PROVIDE TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT to ensure faculty can review curricula, pedagogical practices, and the methodologies used to assess learning with an anti-racism lens. Additionally, provide opportunities to make substantive changes to course curricula and teaching practices, including engagement in culturally responsive instruction.
