MUSC 4978 - Introduction to Arts Administration. Assessed criteria include a Current Event Briefing, Written Grant Proposal, Arts Industry and Market Analysis, and Organizational Evaluation of an arts organization.
Students demonstrate key concepts and theories in a final 15- to 20-page paper in which they apply the management and leadership skills learned to a real organization. Students select an organization do research to collect information about it. Based on research, students conduct a SWOT analysis and develop a management and leadership strategy for moving the organization forward in a competitive environment. Sources must be properly cited.
