The Makerspace Student Educator microcredential certifies that workers in the library makerspace are able to demonstrate proficiencies in three areas: (1) Use of the technology and digital design skills that are associated with he technology in the Makerspace. (2) Customer service with patrons and conducting administrative tasks for Makerspace operations. (3) Teaching patrons to use Makerspace technology.

Earning Criteria

Earners complete online modules for each of the equipment. 3D printing, Laser cutting, Embroidery, CNC milling, Vinyl cutting, Sewing machines, #D scanning.

Earner completes a peer-taught shadow session, teach another staff member to use the equipment, and conclude by training-the-trainer on the equipment. Learners complete deliverables and upload the final item to the LMS D2L Brightspace. Learners complete reflections of teaching and training sessions.
