The Community Engagement for Human Rights badge is presented by the Human Rights Practice Program with the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Arizona. Recipients have worked in active and sustained collaboration with a community-based partner to plan and carry out a project related to human rights. Learners have engaged with community members, both as team members and as leaders, to identify and enact community priorities. Learners reflect upon the experience.

Earning Criteria

Students actively engage with a community-based organization and/or project related to human rights. The participate in meetings aiming to plan and execute collaborative activity, serving as both leader and a team member as required by the circumstances, They undertake agreed upon tasks to carry out the cooperatively developed outcome. Upon completion, learners provide reactions to the experience via a survey and a personal reflection.
