Foundations of Trauma-Informed Care

Badge earners have focused on Trauma-informed care (TIC), an approach which assumes that an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma. TIC recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role trauma may play in an individual’s life—including service staff. Learners were able to contract as an organization with ITTIC, or complete four online modules which provided foundational training on trauma and TIC before responding to a scenario to showcase their skills

Earning Criteria

Online: Successful completion of 3 required online modules (18.25 hours) and 1 focused elective (0.75-1.5 hours) and response to a scenario depicting an agency incident. In Person: Successful completion of learning within the contracts tailored to the needs of the agency as well as a response to a scenario depicting an agency incident.
