Earners of the eSports micro-credential have an understanding of eSports and the digital gaming ecosystem and a perspective of traditional sports in society. Through hands on experience as an intern working in a large eSports gaming facility for 100+ players, earners develop improved communication skills, critical thinking, resourcefulness and adaptability - as supported by the University of Glasgow 2017 study on skill development through video games - which can be used to further their careers.

Earning Criteria

Earners successfully complete, with a grade of B or above, two courses enabling participants to gain a thorough understanding of eSports and the social impact of sports. This knowledge is applied through an academic internship in the eSports Gaming Lab. Learners create a final video project featuring live gameplay broadcast and archived gameplay video with custom graphics and commentary, a culmination of technical and professional skills developed.
