This 4-credit microcredential covers the technical fundamentals of artificial intelligence and its implications for modern society. It provides learners with an introduction to artificial intelligence, including technical terminology and key concepts in intelligent computer systems, machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and image processing. Learners will perform hands-on activities in the basics of AI and machine learning.

To complete this microcredential, learners must successfully complete the following two undergraduate courses: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (UUNI 118/1 credit) & Concepts in Artificial Intelligence (CINF 135/3 credits)

Learners will be able to: Explain and use artificial intelligence terminology and technologies in the workforce; Identify the advantages and disadvantages of using artificial intelligence in organizations including business enterprise and government; Analyze the implications of applying AI systems to organizations and in the workplace; Apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and cognitive computing skills to address real world issues
