The ASB IPE Series at UMMC is a program of presentations/panels focused on instilling the value of team-based patient care, which requires true collaboration and interprofessionalism among all health care professions, even those not directly involved in patient care, represented on the UMMC campus. Each session focuses on addressing Interprofessional Education Competencies.

Earners must attend the panel discussion on Development and Integration of Evidence-Based Techniques into Patient Care. Teamwork and Team-Based Care are the competencies developed. Learning objectives include: Identify advantages of evidence-based patient care; Explain the roles of various healthcare and health-related professions in delivering evidence-based care; Discuss ways different healthcare and health-related professions contribute to the advancement of evidence-based patient care.

Earners must respond to a reflection assignment regarding the advantages of evidence-based care and what areas they feel they need to know more about to be prepared for this practice. Areas discussed might include resources, methodology, interpretation of data, or others. Score of 100 % is required to earn the credential.
