UMMC ASB Interprofessional Education Series 2021-2022 - Session 3
The ASB IPE Series at UMMC is a program of presentations/panels focused on instilling the value of team-based patient care, which requires true collaboration and interprofessionalism among all health care professions, even those not directly involved in patient care, represented on the UMMC campus. Each session focuses on addressing Interprofessional Education Competencies.

Earners must attend a panel discussion on Successes and Failures of the COVID-19 Response in Rural Areas. Session relates to Teamwork and Team-Based Care. Learning objectives include: Identify IP collaboration in these environments during the COVID-19 crisis and its contribution to healthcare successes; Identify deficits in IP collaboration in these areas and crisis and the resulting consequences; Identify methods of strengthening IP collaboration in these areas to promote future readiness.

Earners must respond to a reflection assignment regarding why interprofessional, team-based collaborative care is so important in rural communities, especially during a public health crisis, and how learners/trainees can be prepared for this challenging work. Score of 100% is required to earn the credential.
