Foundational Leadership Certification

Issued by Leadership Development | The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda

Earners of this badge develop essential leadership skills such as navigating difficult interactions, providing feedback, taking a coaching approach to leadership, and equity, diversity, justice and inclusion awareness. Participants complete six Harvard ManageMentor courses, implement On-the-Job Action Plans, and engage in online workshops with other Salvation Army leaders to reflect on learning and apply leadership concepts in their ministry context.

Earning Criteria

Complete 6 Harvard ManageMentor® courses: Leading People, Difficult Interactions, Coaching, Feedback Essentials, Performance Appraisal, and Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.
Complete an assessment at the end of each course to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of leadership best practices
Participate in 3 interactive online Leadership Café Workshops on a variety of topics (90 min. each)
Create and implement 6 On-The-Job Action Plans (one for each course)
