Earning Criteria

Certification is open to all applicants – there is no requirement for any previous certification.
To achieve certification to the Open FAIR Foundation Body of Knowledge, Candidates must complete the eight (8) Learning Units defined in the Conformance Requirements document and pass the Open FAIR 2 Foundation examination.
The Open FAIR 2 Foundation examination is the assessment for the Open FAIR 2 Foundation certification. This examination comprises 40 questions in simple multiple choice format, covering the learning outcomes (see the Conformance Requirements document for detail). The pass mark is 60% (24 or more questions out of a maximum of 40).
The duration of certification is indefinite – certification is to a given version of the Body of Knowledge and does not expire, so there are no re-certification or renewal requirements.

The Open FAIR Body of Knowledge, Version 2

The Open FAIR Body of Knowledge, Version 2, consists of the Risk Analysis (O-RA) Standard that describes the process necessary for risk analysts to perform effective information security risk analysis, and the Risk Taxonomy (O-RT) Standard that provides a definition and taxonomy for (information security) risk.
