The course objective is to emulate different approaches to leadership; apply leadership processes to understanding character development and trait identification in others; assess current leadership experiences and identify areas of further development; review the various leadership styles and learn how to apply that information into communication and interactions with others; and explore the nuances of emotional intelligence in action to gain buy-in, respect, and overall cooperation.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include case studies, written papers, presentations, quizzes, performance rubrics/checklists, and more with a minimum passing score of 80%.

Standards
Student Leadership Programs (SLP) must prepare students for leadership roles and responsibilities through opportunities that develop and enhance a personal philosophy of leadership that includes an understanding of self, others, and community and assist students in gaining varied leadership experiences.
