The course objective is to educate law enforcement and non-commissioned personnel assigned to crime scene investigation. The general course topics include coroner and medical examiner systems; types of trauma; postmortem factors and processes; body of evidence; investigating specific types of death; death investigation procedures; child death; decedents in a hospital setting; autopsy, lab, and specialist capabilities; and stress.

Earning Criteria
