This micro-credential provides students with the opportunity to get started in this dynamic career with the basic fundamentals of HTML/CSS coding. Students will demonstrate the ability to code websites which include: menus, links, and images while incorporating strong design skills for color, font, layout and navigation. Students will also learn how to apply these skills within content management systems such as WordPress to customize existing websites.

Earning Criteria

Project (with a grade of 75 or higher): Create a basic 3-page website with original HTML5/CSS3 code. The project will assess the student’s achievement of the above learning outcomes.

Test (with a grade of 75 or higher): One hour proctored exam on basic HTML5/CSS3. The test will assess the student’s achievement of the above learning outcomes.

This micro-credential is part of a stackable sequence which must be taken in this order: HTML/CSS Intro; HTML/CSS Intermediate; HTML/CSS Advanced

OPTIONAL: SUNY Broome students completing all three badges may apply for Prior Learning Assessment credit for BIT 173 Website Creation with HTML/CSS.
