The course objective is to introduce students to a theoretical and practical introduction to cultural anthropology to provide insight into cultural forces which affect the human way of life. Topics include the study of material culture, technology, religion, and language. Social and economic systems are emphasized. Focus is also given to contemporary or applied issues of anthropology including the status of women, gender issues, and globalization.
