In either Project Management (MNGMT-5323-5605) Project Management (MNGMT-4323-5603), students demonstrate the ability to evaluate the benefits, limitations, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in project management. Earners apply traditional and AI-supported methods to plan, organize, and pitch project proposals to real-world clients in business, nonprofit, government, education, or other organizational settings. Students must earn 80% or higher on the required final project proposal.

Earning Criteria

  • Earning an 80% or above, students identify professional organizations, industry resources, government reports, and field-specific materials to examine how AI is shaping project management in their current or future careers. Students outline a 6-week plan for continued growth in project management, AI literacy, and professional readiness specific to their career aspirations.
  • Earning an 80% or above, students will research and discuss how AI is used in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, communication, risk mitigation, and decision-making. Students evaluate key benefits and concerns, including efficiency, accuracy, bias, privacy, over reliance, ethical judgment, and responsible human oversight.
  • Earning an 80% or above, Students create and pitch project management deliverables to clients. The clients receive the project schedule, budget, risk mitigation plan using traditional and AI-supported methods. Students explain how AI was used, evaluate its usefulness with the support of their client mentor.
