This course introduces the basic skills and knowledge required by entry-level Tire and Lubrication Technicians in the automotive industry. In addition to job task training, you will learn essential shop safety, effective customer/co-worker communication and vehicleservice information. Hands-on practice in automotive skills pertaining to basic vehicle inspections, lubrication, engine oil, and filter replacement as well as tire service, repair, and replacement are all included in your training.

Earning Criteria

Apply workshop safety practices at all times.

Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers in an automotive workplace.

Apply electronic and paper vehicle service information to a specific job. Perform a basic vehicle inspection as required for tire or lubrication service.

Perform a basic automotive fluid check, lubrication, and oil change.

Demonstrate proper procedures for tire rotation, replacement, balancing and inflation.
